Slow Start
It's quiet here in the little house. Morning light is just beginning to waken the earth, to gently peek in the bedroom window. A cup of hot tea is within reach, and I've propped up the bed pillows and slid back under the covers for a bit of a slow start this Saturday morning.
The last two days have taken me down the highways in different directions, chasing after two cross-country runners, cheering them on, snapping photos as they puffed by, sweat dripping. All told, it was something like sixteen hours of riding (I carpooled, thank goodness and thank you, friends!), to watch about 30 minutes of racing. Then, in the dark of night, from the car, driving through middle of nowhere Wyoming, calling that football boy of ours to congratulate him on a win that I couldn't make it back to see.
So, a dive back under the covers.
Because the list for today can wait just a bit. The general odds and ends of a week's closing will still be there in an hour. But right now, a pause. A restful moment, a slow inhale and a stretch.
Wishing you a lovely weekend, friends.
P.S. And, if you're feeling a bit rocked by the news and the debates and the unkindnesses of late. Maybe this will help.
