Iced Chai For Hot Summer Days

Mostly, it's ice cold water for me on hot summer days. Straight up clear, or with a splash of lemon or lime. Occasionally, I pour a drink from the jar of perpetual iced tea that appears in our fridge in spring and stays until fall. But lately, when I've wanted something just as icy cold, but a little different (and a little fancy), it's been iced chai.

This one's simple, like summer should be.

In the morning, I brew loose organic tea, nice and strong, stir in a scant teaspoon of honey, then chill it. One 12 oz cup of tea will make 2 tumblers of iced chia to enjoy later in the day.

Over a cupful of ice, I pour the chilled tea, then top with frothed milk and flecks of grated nutmeg. A little spicy, a little creamy, a little sweet, this is what I want to have in hand while taking a break beside the creek.

Hello, loves. I missed you here last week, but enjoyed time away with my family on a mini vacation. What have you been up to? I hope you've been enjoying small moments, lately, with family and friends, perhaps with an icy beverage in hand.

If you're curious, here's what I use to brew my iced chai:

Tea, mugs, tea strainer, tumblers, milk frother
