Literally Part Of Our World

Oh my loves! How deeply thrilling it was for me to have had so many of you join me virtually in our home last night for the first Holiday Table! What a wonder to put beautiful faces to so many names I recognize. As I sit here in our dark and quiet house this morning before dawn, I’m thinking about the connection and community that you are to me and I’m so utterly grateful.

It’s an interesting thing to be a writer, designer, creator, and liver and lover of life with an online presence. I treasure what I do and that I get to live in a time that provides the technology for a small person like me, tucked away in far off Wyoming, to have a place where my images and words and work are available for anyone in the world to find and enjoy. But, interestingly, the creating of it all, despite how much I love it, can feel quiet, as if it’s just my computer screen and I. So to get to see and visit and share with you last night in real time felt like I was drinking in the other side of the conversation and it was soul nourishing.

I talked with my husband on the phone afterward and he wanted to know all about how it went. He was thrilled to hear. I’m telling you this because, even though you only catch occasional glimpses of him, and you never hear from him, he appreciates you just as much as I do. You are literally part of our world.

I hear Maggie Mae groaning and yawning in her chair in the other room. She’ll be waking soon and nudging me with her nose, asking for her breakfast. And when she wakes, the writing window closes. Grin. So I’ll finish here by simply saying thanks. Thank you to each and every one of you who follows here and shares my life with me. You are loved.

P.S. If you’re disappointed to have missed last night’s Holiday Table, don’t worry! You can still join in one of two times available tomorrow, December 10. Click here to save your place.

P.P.S If you’re new to Zoom events, here’s a great tutorial about how to join!
