Three Things

It’s an idea that bounced to life unexpectedly (love those kind). It’s something for us, for you and I to share together. I’m calling it Three Things and it’s so simple. Here’s how it goes: I’ll start by listing three things I’ve recently found, loved, noticed, or experienced, then you do the same in the comments.

It might be something like this:

  • Chatty flocks of blackbirds that gather in August. (Miss M.M. has been watching them intently out the window.)

  • A marble-topped antique table, just right as an island in the larder. (Just right to photograph a vegetable still life on.)

  • Broken shoe strings tied together (and getting a few more miles on those old running shoes).

Or, as simple as this:

  • A clean mirror

  • A freshly-weeded bed

  • A Facetime gardening chat with mom

Three Things will move into our private chat as a weekly feature (available to paid subscribers) after today (won’t that be fun?), but let’s get started here.

It’s a way for us to collectively nurture a way of seeing and appreciating the small things that often slip by in everyday life, and in the process, share something meaningful together that doesn’t cost a thing. The only hard and fast rule is, there can be no links for things to buy.

I’m anxiously awaiting your Three Things. Go!
